Have you ever looked into the eyes of a lion? A “real” one. Not the kind that is behind a fence with a full stomach. If you have, you will know that it is chilling to say the least! We have “domesticated” these wild beasts by observing them from cars, behind fences and seeing “tamed” ones in circuses. We have lost touch with their awesomeness.
It’s fierce nature and strength makes it the king of the jungle, the apex predator – “top dog” of the animal world so to speak. But there is more to this creature than that. I wanted to show it’s majestic side, that presence of a creature in command. A male lion that has confidence that is backed by the ability to outperform any other competitors.
This lion has the ability to see what we can not, as he stares into the distance beyond our view. He has his eyes locked on something without the slightest appearance of feeling intimidated. His confidence is contagious and draws the viewer in. Luckily his eyes aren’t on us!
